I was invited by Beiersdorf last weekend to check out a game that they are having at 1 Utama.

Beiersdorf is a global skin care company that you’ve probably never heard of - but you’ve definitely heard of Nivea, Eucerin and Hansaplast. I first got to know of the name of the group that handles all these brands when Advertlets started working with Eucerin.

The setup was done in conjunction with Guardian and other men’s grooming brands. Was quite a huge setup in 1 Utama.

The game was FIFA 2010 South Africa Edition. Quite a well put together game in the EA/FIFA series. It was my first time playing it, and I probably got like 10 minutes practice and some quick Googling on my iPhone to find out the controls.

I was up against a skinny guy called Steve who had a bandaged foot. Presumably from playing real football?

Here I am, brooding and handsome in intense concentration on the game. Or hunched and in my Saturday noon just-woke-up look, depending on which way you look at it.

So, you probably wonder if I won. Find out at the end of the post!

Jason Ong tried out too. Against a man with no eyes. No, it’s not the angle, he really has no eyes on his face.

These are the Men’s Health Refine & Define Challenge Participants who also were taking part in the games.

They all looked relatively fit, so I asked them “What did you look like before?”

They said “You don’t wanna know!”

At the end of the day, it was a good experience - because I got to win great products from Nivea simply by playing. Pretty good gift bag - I got shaving foam (like I know what to do with that, what with my hairless face, lol!), deodorant and face scrub!

And yes, you’re probably curious about the result, so here it is: 2-0. Not too bad considering this was my first PS3 football game experience!

And also, happy because I didn’t kena trashing like Jason (see below). Hahaha!
