This is my overdue post from PC Fair. Lots of pictures! A whole bunch of us Advertlets Bloggers went actually. Including the Teng sisters, who came all the way down from Penang!

From left: Jason Ong, Joyce Teng, Povy Teng, Josh Lim (I like how my arms look big in this photo).

Brendan Lee was not there, but Brendan was there:

Of course, part of the whole draw of PC fair (besides the lower prices), are the lovely promoters and the costumes.

img_4737

Other than that, there was some other stuff spotted (I know you’re here for the girls, read on first can)

Everyone was looking for a good deal. Even Buddhist monks.

img_4793

There was a gold man too (it’s not a statue)

img_4878

Some people were pretty anxious to get their computers set up as fast as possible.

img_4847

Some were just scared of H1N1.

img_4845

Most “sesat” booth at PC Fair - Delcol, a filtered water company.

img_4981

Okay, now back to the girls…

img_4869

Okay la, sorry that one above was a cardboard cutout. Looks damn real right though?

So back to the real ladies…

img_4743

And more..

img_4768

Promoters from Papago, a GPS company:

Pretty peeps from Phillips:

img_4856

The Penang girls wanted a photo together :)

img_4848

img_4860

I actually asked this girl…”Er, you’re working at the Apple booth and you’re wearing a Mango shirt?”

img_4779

Belkin girl has a ‘why you want to take pictures of me?’ look on her face. Cute :)

img_4802

Golden girls from Hibikii

img_4880

Let me teach you something interesting. The following are the same three girls, shot at different angles. Notice that it’s like Large, Medium, Small :)

img_4912

But if I shoot from the lower right, notice that the girl in the center appears taller, and the petite girl, slightly taller (a bit hard to make her much taller la).

img_4914

Something you might want to try to balance out heights in photos :)

img_4906

For some reason, these two promoters from different companies wanted to take a picture with Povy. I think they thought she was a celebrity.

img_4911

Sadly, this is only a demo camera.

img_4924

img_4927

Ladies from Epson.

img_4934

Ladies from E8GE Rechargeable Batteries. I actually bought 4 AA batteries and a charger from them for RM50. Really cheap.

img_4946

img_4950

Avira booth had a cool rotating gear.

img_4955

I think you’ll probably also want another shot of the Teng sisters, so here goes:

img_4809

Also, below: I was considering buying a third party ’speedlight’ for my camera from this girl, so I tested it out on her (picture has not been retouched, the speedlight is pretty bright)

img_4963

The effect is pretty stunning.

img_4967

Now both of them:

img_4971

I didn’t buy the speedlight eventually, most likely going to go for an original one.

Also met some people I knew there:

Herman, Senior Product Specialist from Canon (who helped me correct my Canon’s white balance!)

img_4923

Ahmad Shah, VP of Marketing & Operations of Amax

img_4989

The device on his neck is actually an upcoming Amax Mobile TV product. Streams at about 480 x 320, pretty good framerate.

img_4990

All in all I think shifting the event to KL Convention Centre instead of the Putra World Trade centre is a welcome move.

The air circulation is better, and there’s generally more space and it’s easier to access via public transportation. I went to KLCC via LRT as I presumed the roads leading to KLCC would the jammed and parking would be hard (which it was).

Putting Maxis, TM Streamyx, Celcom & P1 within 50 metres of each other probably wasn’t the best idea.

img_4982

Without going into too much detail on which staff went where, it was unfortunate to see that PC fair security had to ask some of ths staff/promoters to step back into their respective booths and not cross the line.

Speaking as a consumer, I could definitely feel the tension as those from the various competing broadband companies tried to all pitch/pass brochures at the same time. Then again, competition in broadband is good la :)

And PS, here’s a tip: Why use mostly guys to pitch? A feminine touch would definitely make it a lot less aggressive.

All in all, I didn’t buy much but it was a good challenge to find interesting things to shoot. A lot of my shots turned out a bit grainy due to improper lighting conditions. Better shots next time.

Lastly, this is the Epson ladies after work at the KLCC food court. They looked really hungry, but I managed to shoot a quick shot. Salute to the hardworking promoters of PC Fair!
